This is purely an arts and crafts Elderhostel. There
were worksh
ops on making
jewelry, faux, oil painting, and so forth. I worked on improving my skills
regarding black and white photography. The lab was open almost 7/24. The
instructor was very skilled and creative. We had about six photographers and had
to share equipment. It was expected that one had some previous experience in a
darkroom and owned a 35mm manual camera.
There are long lists of workshops offered here in
many of the Elderhostel catalogues. And there were several outdoor field trips,
including a visit to an outstanding museum at Smith College. I would recommend
this place to anyone who wants to further his or her creativity.
The food was mostly vegetarian and organically
grown.
The bathrooms, I must warn you, are all outside, with
signs that switch from Women t
o
Men, and from Occupied to Unoccupied. Make sure to switch the signs, and good
luck!!
